it is high time that the tv licence was scrapped and the bbc either made a pay per view channel or paid for through advertising which would be a small step as they already have significant adverts anyway.
do not tell me that the bbc does not have adverts as you only have to turn on the bbc and you have adverts for their programmes or tune into a talk show or any show which has a guest with a book film show or record etc which has to be plugged.
since people are fond of telling us if we do not watch soaps and think they are crap we should turn over or turn off then surely it is time that people stopped writing on these boards about how good they are and just got on and watched them.
as for deadenders being voted the best soap perhaps it is because more deadenders fans feel the need to vote to convince themselves that it is good.
Eastenders is dark and unrealistic. The early days were the best followed by the time Shane Ritchie gave some laughter and fun to the show. Now it is just poor pants.
I agree Emmerdale has come a long way, the assisted suicide story did not get a look in? Why....?
Just shows what these awards actually achieve. It more to do with individuals, their life, their appeal and PR.
I have never watched Emmerdale in my life until 2 years ago and it's probably my favourite. Early Eastenders was ace, as was brookside and hollyoaks, Corrie been steady. But Emmerdate is now the one I look forward to most....keep up the good work and you will be rewarded one day......
