I have now got such an awful headache through so much crying. must i say i loved pat soooooo much this was the best eastenders iv seen the whole butcher family were amazing i can honestly say the story line was brilliant and i bet touched every home this christmas so sad to see pat go hope pat gets an award for her part as this was the best performance i have seen what an amazing actress **** we will never for get you, you will always be remembered pat butcher ****

I don't normally cry but that episode was emotional and the scenes with Janine and Pat were heart warming ! WE LOVE YOU PAT !!! RIP AND WE WILL MISS THOSE EARRINGS..

I lost my father to cancer last year and found the scenes of Pat's death very moving. I agree that the storylines in Eastenders can be depressing at times but everyone has a choice whether to watch the programme or not. Its quite simple, if you don't like the programme don't watch it. The world would be a very boring place is all of us liked the same things. I will miss the Pat and wish Pam all the very best for the future.

Some people are so bludy nasty (Cleo the Cat) You do make me laugh though, for someone with such strong views on people who watch Eastenders, you seem to know a lot about the show and the sexual orientation of Pat...you must be a secret Eastenders fan!
I dip into the show now and again when there is nothing else on the box, but I wouldn't call myself sad or a fatso...it's a show for godsake, get a grip and concentrate and being a 'better' person instead of the horrible one you appear to be...Do you have any friends?

soaps are about life that everyone experiences at some point or another, not to the same extreme, but you cant say no one has ever experienced death, heart break, police or anything else that goes on in soaps. it makes me reflect on how hard some people have it and how hard things can be for them....im just glad my life is sometimes dull and boring and i dont have a soap life. im glad i can watch it on tele and not experience it. i love the soaps. makes me see how good my life is.

maybe someone (cleo the cat) should take a look at themself. They are obviously interested in soaps or wouldnt be on this site in the first place. We soap watchers are aware it is acting but life imitates art and many people could relate with Pats passing, myself included, as I too lost my mum to cancer 2 years ago.

"someone" do you realise that people are going through that same scene in real life. Not everyone had no life and is a "fatso" as you say. Are you just slating people because your not happy with your apperance. Sometimes it is nice to get away from reality and watch soap or films or read a book. Just because you dont like it you sould respect the fact that people have to go through that everyday!! Your a very insensitive person and i feel very sorry for you!

i think the acting for pat was fantastic the sadness in her eyes when she was in
the vic as brill i have worked with cancer patients and in no way found it undeliverable
