Tommy (Chris Fountain) is clearly finding the surrogacy idea harder to take then he's letting on to Tina (Michelle Keegan). It doesn't help that Gary (Mikey North) is starting to annoy him.

Corrie has copied Neighbours. Not only is the story line identical, it is running currently and with a character of the same name. This sort of thing has happened before. I do not believe in coincidences.
Back injuries work really well because the character can continue to think and maintain dialogue, therefore interest.
To be fair, Neighbours has even used this scenario with previous characters; Paul Robinson, yonks ago and a year or 2 back, a Chinese girl at least that i can remember.
Is there a limit to workable soap story lines now that tv has been around for 60 or so years?
