He notices the arrival of Dr Carter, and he sees Gloria (Sue Johnston) quickly usher him through to the back. Later, Lewis finds her in floods of tears as she tells him the true startling reason for her return.

Corrie has copied Neighbours. Not only is the story line identical, it is running currently and with a character of the same name. This sort of thing has happened before. I do not believe in coincidences.
Back injuries work really well because the character can continue to think and maintain dialogue, therefore interest.
To be fair, Neighbours has even used this scenario with previous characters; Paul Robinson, yonks ago and a year or 2 back, a Chinese girl at least that i can remember.
Is there a limit to workable soap story lines now that tv has been around for 60 or so years?
