First look at contestants - Toni Warne
BBC1's The Voice UK will see four acclaimed recording artists seek out the nation's best vocal talent. The BBC obviously hope The Voice UK will be the new X Factor; here's what we know so far...
Recognise this singer? Alopecia sufferer Toni Warne previously turned up on television via legendary talent show, Opportunity Knocks. The 34-year-old went bald in her twenties, but she's never given up her dream of being a major recording artist. In this Saturday's launch show at the blind auditions, she gives a superb rendition of Someone Like You. Apparently, will.i.am was the only coach not to turn around and buzz for her.
What else do we know about The Voice UK? See this gallery for more details.

Simon Robinson:
Are you advocating that if one does not like, is unable to fully support, does not elect to be intimately concerned by a subject and/or activity then one is not permitted to hold any opinion with regards to the merits or otherwise of said subject and/or activity?
If one does not vote for any political party/organisation, by way of protest, then one is disbarred from commenting about any political agenda/platform; is that what you are advocating?
Or, are you merely suggesting that the apparent lack of what may be viewed as comprehensive interest is a reasonable premise on which one should base qualification to comment as insufficient?
ef me.........kill me now...shoot me now..i'm off to poland..say no to drugs kids !!!!
sounds a lot like JUKE BOX JURY, at least it had a second panel of judges, (under 21)
to represent the people who buy the records, and not the over 50's brigade.
Why the empathy and sympathy for a bald woman that sounded like an average pub singer. Bald men have the pis* taken out of them, mainly by women, and are constantly called slap heads. There is an ad, for grass seed, at the moment with the wife telling the husband to seed the lawn ( so much for no job differentials ) then she slaps the top of his head and makes a snide remark about would it work anywhere else. Oh so funny, the fact that a supposedly intelligent woman would think you can plant grass seed into someone's head?
Ads are always demeaning men, I make a point of not buying those products.
Why is it funny if a man goes bald but not a woman?
I thought she was a slap-head who couldn't sing that good. She forced notes out to the point of shouting, that seems the modern indium, and the melodious notes were lost. Why sing when we have got use to people shouting and being called singers? Then there was the screamer and the Bowie wannabe. If this show is the best they 'got' I don't hold out much hope for the rest of the series.
The Us Version had Adam Lambert (Maroon 5), Christina Aguilera, Blake Sheldon (biggest male country star at the moment) and Cee Lo Green but in the US and most of the world these are still million+ records selling artists so for me the UK version is still going to be the Poor mans USA version.
I think this has the look of fame academy all over it and it won’t last as long but only time will tell.
