Singer/songwriter Adam Isaac from Exeter performed a rendition of Maybe Tomorrow by The Stereophonics. All the coaches except Jessie J buzzed their buzzers. will.i.am commented: 'You have a great voice. You remind me of cats that I hang out with at home who just love and eat music...star quality'.
Under fierce competition, Tom Jones reverted to his ace in the pack - a story about how he used to hang out with Elvis. He said: 'If you want experience, you're looking right at him.' Adam agreed.

I quite like this show, to be honest. It was slow and a bit cheesy at the beginning but I think that it turned itself around.
Not only were all of them good at singing but their appearance and sob stories couldn't persuade the judges.

Loved the first show. Adam Isaac sounded fantastic. Tom Jones fought hard for him. If Tom is his mentor he should win. Good luck Adam. I shall be watching all the way. Tom Jones is my favourite Judge.

They have lots of good singers...even the auditionees on the show sing better than, finalists on the Xfactor!

I loved the voice, it was different, any programme that can rival simon cowells is good. I cannot stand simons smug rubber face any longer. Tom jones is a legend, can't wait for next week, i loved the competition between judges. love it

This was way better than XFactor, I love that the judges can't choose an act because of the way they look. XFactor is a joke compared to this

Loved the show, the sob stories put me off a bit, the contestants seemed eager to let the judges know they were suffering, the pre-interview before singing was enough...
With such an amazing judging panel with people that know what they are one about and continue to have great success around the world, this show cant go wrong!

I thoroughly enjoyed this change in format. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next.
As for the sob stories, there was only really one that I noticed. When Toni Warne was asked what influenced her, she suddenly blurted out her alopecia tale. I thought the judges were asking about her musical influences, not why she had no hair. I have to admit, her sob story almost made me turn over..... but it was BGT on the other side, so I stayed.

I enjoyed listening to the singers but, as the show progressed, the mentors argued more, became louder and I lost interest. Too noisy for me . . . . . . and that was just the Mentors! It's not for me.

not a bad opening show although there was a bit too much repition by the judges about who they had worked with, their position in the music industry should suffice for any would be contestant
