The Voice UK features a unique spin on other singing contests - coaches Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J, will.i.am and Danny O'Donoghue don't get to see the performer until they make their final decision. So what happened this week?
Deniece Pearson appeared with her siblings in family band, Five Star. In the 1980s they were, at one point, touted as 'the British Jackson 5' thanks to the fact that there were five of them, and they sang and danced. Deniece gave a rendition of Christina Aguilera's Fighter. Tom Jones was eventually won over. "The thing that hit me was the tone and the power," he said as he welcomed Deniece onto his team.

I don't get the point of the show at all....the judges are Tom Jones(too old),Jessy J(been in the business 5 minutes)Danny(I don't know who he is)and Will i am(the only one that seems to know what he wants).So what happens now when the acts have passed their auditions?
I find that after all the hype surrounding the show it is boring...sorry but that's my opinion!

Everyone on the Voice panel has had some experience on the musical scene Especially Sis Tom and know what they are about Who on any of the other so called talent shows has certainly not not simon co well all he knows about is making money on the backs off other people He certainly has no other talent

I really don't understand why everybody is making such a fuss about the Voice. it's just like the xfactor. the difference between them is that the xfactor doesn't pretend to be something that it isn't!
you see, the only people who judge the the singers on their voice alone is the 4 judges and that's only during the auditions. as soon as they turn around it's back to the x-factor format.
the way the judges fight over the contestants, the name dropping, is just cringe worthy.
But most importnatly, we the audiende, the people who will lift up the phone to vote, we are denied the novelty of judging the contestants on their voice alone because before they sing we still have to endure their sob storys. I thought that was the point of the voice, No dramatic sob stories but they are even more emotional and OTT than on the xfactor!

just another spin off x factor designed to create controversial publicity, what's really annoying is on one end the judges consist of old and new top performers, as with the contestants, some need no help and have no right to be there, and others claim to come from no where, derrrr whatever, its really insulting to the viewer/ licence payer/ audience, not all of us are so gullible, quote of the show, by tom jones, ( i look for raw talent ) ye ye enjoy your money and publicity tom, silliest comment of the show, ( contestant ), ( i only ever wanted to sing ), stop it please its so plastic, to be honest this show is so insulting, it is a blatant con, i will not watch this rubbish again, i had enough of x factor crap,

Some of the things you say or are going to say are just repeats of last years comments, so lets try and guess what they are.
- Another year and another show featuring people trying break into show biz. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.
- It is yet another spin off from POp Idol / X Factor or whatever, Absolutely nothing wrong with that either.
- It all about making money? Well it is a business and that's what businesses do. In these hard times it is great that there exists businesses that do.
- She is a has been who should have stayed at home. - She has done that, but now wants to come back, absolutely nothing wrong with that.
This is simple, so listen carefully: You don't have to watch it. But you do, so stop complaining it was your choice. They cannot all be great singers, but even if they don't make it, they gave it a try. Some may even make it at a lower level and be happy with that.
Why do so many of you have nothing in your lives but the ability to criticise others? And some of you may grow up one day and God Forbid, hold a responsible Job? (Shudders at the thought?)

this show is already pointless every act is apparently fantastic even if no one selects them, and they wish they had hit the button if only they could have seen them and known how old they were,if talent was down to the voice alone then the Fat kid Gary Barlow was mentoring last year would have won the X Factor last year instead of Marcus Collins,plus what happens to these acts once they go through to the next round and the celebs have already seen them,you cant tell me this wont affect there judgement

Well.. what a surprise to see the ex five star singer,, she was good.. but it makes me think it's just a means to her restart her pop career,, she has already been a pop star and is a professional singer.. so this gives her an unfair advantage over the people who don't already have that advantage... i noticed the disgraced brother steadman also made his appearance behind the scenes,,, i suppose it's all good publicity for her.. i have to say the judges passed over some very singers,,but good luck for them all..

I think you should look in a dictionary to check whether you really meant MOURNING , LOL.
So, according to you we should all watch the programme and have no opinion at all about the singers. Surely that's the point of the programme. That's what the judges are doing as well.
We don't have to be wannabe singers to have an opinion or to know which acts are good and which aren't.
In my opinion Deniece Pearson ( an old has been who should've stayed home ) wasn't very good and much better singers were 'not wanted' by the judges. Well not wanted at the time, but will.i.am has now tried to sign one of the 'turned down' singers to his own record label . This show is all about making money ( just like Simon Cowell's shows) , & nothing else.

Five Star received some unwarranted bad press at the height of their success (as was common with some of the red tops against popular artists of the day). This was the beginning of their downfall. I met them whilst working at Capital Radio and they were delightful, open and warm and good fun too. I hope this works out for her. People don't forget good souls nor great talent and she is still has age on her side.
This programme knock spots off the other talent shows. It is slick and the judges know what they are talking about. I wish they would stop the razzamatazz showy sections as it looks old and copyist. I definitely won't get hooked but it's worth turning on just to help with the ratings against the other one.

Great show but why do the judges keep turning to each other and saying, are you going to turn round. just do it if you like the voices stop asking each other so infuriating. and why pick Jessie j and danny these music toddlers think they know it all. y not call it the tom and will show. at least these guys know a thing or two.

Deneise was the heart of Five star and should have been a big Brittish star (like janet jackson ) after they split up. She not only sings but writes songs too. Check out her video on You Tube called 'Here I am' it is stunning.
Just cos you are a bit older or your career has fell off a bit does not mean you should not be allowed a second chance, I applaud her for having the courage to take on this show, it must be quite hard for her in light of the past success she had. I wish her well xx

You obviously know little of the child prodigy from America if you think she has only been in the business 5 minutes.Jessie J was winning major awards as a Pianist and also as a Sax player in her early teens. She has been a Theatre Actor as well a musician and played many starring roles. As a recording artist she is proficient in many areas i.e. Tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, baritone saxophone, flute, as well as vocals and song writer. The J in Jessie J stands for "JAZZ" which is the musical genre were she made her name and she is the No.1 recording Artist in the US with 2011 earning from record sales way above the nearest rival, including regular top earners such as U2. Not bad for someone only in the business 5 minutes? (PS it is 15 years since her first major award as a pianist)
