Harry Judd, Chelsee Healey and Jason Donovan are all bidding for glory in the Strictly Come Dancing 2011 final at Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Each of the contestants will perform their favourite routine, one decided by the judges, a new dance and the no-holds-barred showdance.
Bookies' favourites Harry and Aliona will showdance to Great Balls Of Fire, and dance an American Smooth to Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley. The judges have chosen the quickstep to Don't Get Me Wrong by The Pretenders, while Harry and Aliona's personal favourite is the Argentine Tango to Asi Se Baila El Tango.
Chelsee and Pasha will showdance to Dreamgirls' One Night Only, and rumba to Because of You by Kelly Clakson. The judges have chosen their jive to I'm A Believer, while Chelsee and Pasha's personal favourite is the quickstep to Sing Sing Sing.
Jason and Kristina will showdance to Dancin' Fool by Frank Zappa, and dance a salsa to Hard To Handle by Otis Redding. The judges have chosen their tango to I Will survive, while Jason and Kristina's personal favourite is the quickstep to Bewitched.

Surely, the amount of bad news and sadness on television right now is the reason to watch programmes like Strictly? I can watch with any member of my family without being appalled by bad language, violence etc. Throughout time, people have found ways to keep themselves cheerful during times of trouble, it doesn't mean that they don't care, just that they are taking care of their own mental health!
ps, not all children who leave school unable to read or write are the products of bad teaching! It could possibly be a little to do with parents who take no interest in their children, and would rather let them play Grand Theft Auto (as one 5 year old in my class does) than talk to them....!
pps. I shall be watching the joyous spectacle that is Strictly later! (c'mon Chelsee!!!)

It never ceases to amaze me how people CHOOSE to read an MSN item about a subject they hate so much.
Why aren't you reading the World news ? MSN is not the only web site, there are very many who do cover world news and also the ' on line newspapers'.

If this is not important to you then why did you read it? I read it to talk to my daughter ( who watches it and enjoys it and she is neither mindless or brain-dead). We also talk about all things that are important and concern us. So you keep to your highbrow and depression and allow others their oasis in a judgemental world.

I cant believe how soo many people are taking a light hearted programe soo seriously..all you peole need to live and let live. We all have a choice, and for the people that condone others for wathcing somthin entertaining or not entertaining, rather than sit and point fingers or sit and sulk,,get up of your backside and go help world peace then..cause a riot,,,save the hungary,,or do some voluntary work..its obvious you have nothing better to do than blame everyone else!! LIVE and LET LIVE...and i agree with the lady that said..it helps some of us get through the hard times..if this is what it takes,,then its not much to ask for..ENJOY life any which way you want ppl....its your choice!

As a matter of fact I do not live alone. I am married with 3 kids and have my own business so No! I am not lonely and neither do I have ALL the time in the world to make comments here. Just a day away from work once in a while.
I have said that simple people are entertained by simple things and I put STRICTLY in that league.
It doesn't actually challenge one's intellect does it.? Many viewers are entertained by that which I regard as frivolous and irrelevant and doesn't require too much thinking about anymore than Big Brother, X factor and its wannabes, or Get me out of Here. As Oscar Wilde once said, a person who cannot think for themselves does not think at all.
We live in a climate where the celeb culture and reality shows disarms people and exposes life's losers and the worst in people (Jermey Springer and Jeremy Kyle) which is the staple diet of many people, and this is entertainment?
This is a reflection a society that has a second rate education system (yes we are well down the league in the international tables) and it shows doesn't it? It shows that true culture has taken second place to cheap and shoddy nonsense in the form of entertainment.
Oh well, I suppose it keeps some people amused or entertained and just because the majority of people watched Strictly as you claim (how do you know?) doesn't make them right.

I was going to add that I have a woman working in my office (she's in her 30s) who can tell you what is happening in East Enders, everything about the people in Strictly, knows the day to day occurrences in Big Brother and and Get me Out of Here but has no idea who the Minister for Work and Pensions is and had never heard of him when I told her. As I am given to quoting Oscar Wilde occasionally amongst other people she has never heard of him or his plays.
What chance the next generation?

There were numerous alternative TV programmes to watch, eg BBC4, Timeshift, you could have watched,( I did, it was a great prog) so why complain about something the majority enjoy.

Lets get it over and done with then maybe we might, just MIGHT get something worth watching instead of dross which is labelled entertainment.The reason why so many people comment adversely about this type of celeb wannabe crap is that MSN have put this above real news, news that affects everyone. MSN have also ceased to open a comment page for real news about real issues and that which is far more important than what seems to appeal to dopey women, for this is a woman's thing it seems, then so is so many other mindless crap programmes on TV these days like Big Brother, X Factor and Get Me Out of Here. I guess if the TV companies were to run a programme called'Who is Sh-gging Who'? the ratings would rocket based on a female viewing audience.
