Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Denise Van Outen wows!

The Strictly Come Dancing 2012 line-up nearly lost Denise Van Outen after she suffered whiplash in rehearsals. Despite some pain, Denise embodied the showbiz maxim of the show going on and she took to the dance floor to huge acclaim.
Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli heaped praise on her, but what did they think of the other performances? Find out in this gallery.
Denise and James took to the floor for a very energetic jive. They performed to Little Richard's classic Tutti Frutti; needless to say - it went down well. "Tutti frutti, what a booty!" cried Len. "That was my cup of tea," he added. Bruno exclaimed: "That is the way we like to see a jive!" Craig simply settled for: "Now for the truth darling: FAB-U-LOUS!"
Denise scored 32 points and topped the table. She was also a winner with MSN users, heading our table of the best dance of the night.

Great dancing from Denise bu t still seems an unfair playing field when she's been paid to dance for years.

Its time they had a new panel of judges Len is getting a crusty old man Bruno gives me a headache
and as for Graig and his acid remarks what can one say
I would say to the BBC that maybe at some time we can see these three get on the dance floor themselves and see what they are made of
Dave Arch and his band are fab wish we could see more of them

I think Denise should never have been allowed in the competition. She has been to stage school and appeared in west end shows including Chicago. She said that when she was in Chicago all she sid was 'sit on a chair' which as I have seen Chicago on the stage, she clearly does loads of dancing including a complicated tap dance routine. I think that it is totally unfair on the other contestants and if we could vote who we want to go home, my finger would be constantly on the redial button!

Denise has done a lot of musical stage work, so she does have an advantage over the others but in the past they've had similar people on, singers in bands for instance they are all used to doing some type of dancing.

For gods sake , It's a pure entertainment. If they were all of the same standard, It would be so boring. It's great fun, and good to watch. There are no blubbing messed up young singers, So desperate for fame and fortune they would grovel and lie to get what they want. S.C.D. and D.O.Ice, are streets ahead of you know what.
