Have the X Factor mentors and categories been revealed?

Gary Barlow reportedly has to find a winner from the Over-25s in this year's X Factor

It's always been a bit of a joke, Louis Walsh getting lumbered with the Over-25s category every time the X Factor comes around.

But now it seems that 'joke' is being played on somebody else: Gary Barlow.

According to The Sun, the categories for each judge has been decided already, and the loveable Gary has a bit of a challenge ahead as Simon Cowell has given him the difficult job of plucking a winner from a group that is largely filled with novelty acts. Remember Wagner? Of course you do.

The only success that has ever come from the Overs category was Steve Brookstein back on the first series in 2004.

An X Factor insider told The Sun's TV Biz: "Gary is preparing himself for an uphill battle."

"Gary doesn't like joke acts and the Overs category is often full of novelty acts.

"In the past, when Louis has mentored them, the public got used to jokey acts like Wagner Carrilho and Johnny Robinson," the source added.

It has also been rumoured that Louis has been given the Groups (will he ever get the Girls or the Boys? Not likely), Nicole Scherzinger has been given the Boys (how lucky for them!) and Tulisa has been given the Girls.

Can Tulisa work her magic for the second year running with the girls? And will the Boys be able to focus on singing and performing with a mentor like Nicole?
