Here we go again! Thirteen new celebrity housemates moved into the Big Brother house. Among them, two soap star heavyweights who were immediately given a secret mission.
Big Brother called Coronation Street's Julie Goodyear and EastEnders' Cheryl Fergison into the diary room as soon as they both entered. As soap royalty, their mission was to turn the Big Brother House into a 90-minute drama of soap opera proportions.
Throughout the night, every time they heard the respective theme tunes to their soaps, Big Brother gave them an instruction based on the false storyline of Julie's affair with an old partner of Cheryl's. The ex-EastEnder was seen crying on the shoulder of former So Solid Crew member MC Harvey as part of the task.
This all culminated in a massive 'row' between the two ladies and Julie, under direction from Big Brother, threw her drink in Cheryl's face. A nice quiet start to the show then!
But as the task was successfully completed, the new housemates - who are all profiled in this gallery - were rewarded with a special soap-themed party. Now then, who are some of these people? Find out...

Don't want to sound boastful but ... When I lived in the Royal Borough of Greenwich I had celebrity neighbours such as Glenda Jackson, Manfred Mann, Jules Holland to name but a few....but do not recognise any of these as celebrities.

Forget about the stars for a second,did anyone notice that Brian FINALLY had a suit that fit him and didn't cling to him like he had Nappies on underneath. Maybe he someone finally pointed this out Or his mother still dressed him for the previous BBshow, anyway lets hope he continues his current fashion sense !!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyed last night and i didn't think i would but it was very entertaining lol

It was brilliant. If you are making comments without having watched Big Brother then why are you here reading and judging something that you haven't seen? There are hundreds of other tv channels and hundreds of other items to comment on but you chose to pick Big Brother? You have just justified it's existence. I have always liked Big Brother and it is not half as good without the live feed which is what actually makes Big Brother but last night was one of the best ever I have ever seen. Remember it is just a tv show and this is what these people do - they are entertainers. If you like people or to observe people then you will like the show but if you don't like people or have no interest in human interaction then go and comment on something you have knowledge on.

It's most likely that the programmes that I watch would be far too intellectually challenging for a BB viewer, therefore I agree wholeheartedly we should view separate channels. Hmmmm..... now, what time does the guide say that the weather forecast will be on.......

Agree Zowie. Thought it was already, not the banned bit, the for charity bit. By and large, the celeb? version has much better behaviour. The possible exception may be Jasminemeanwhile, [there's time for the rest yet no doubt] from her exploits last night. Strange from one purporting to want to stay in for her son. It really is such a game!!! Didn't anyone tell her that blokes are really simple creatures? The "possible" Prince really acted because he thought she really wanted to go home! There's always the off button.
