Vampire stars on 50 Shades rumours

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev have laughed off rumours they are to star in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey.

The Vampires Diaries stars - who are dating in real life - are among the actors reported to be in the running to star in the film adaptation of the hit erotic novel by EL James.

Ian was asked at Comic-Con about playing Christian Grey in the movie. He joked: "I can't imagine Universal doing that, but that would be very interesting."

Then he asked co-star Paul Wesley: "Would you be my stand in?"

Nina, meanwhile, laughed: "I'm not pretty enough."

The Canadian actress also told Extra! TV that she thought being in the film with Ian would spoil it for The Vampire Diaries fans, who would just see their characters if they were to be on screen together.

She said: "I think if people saw us cast in the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie, they would just see Elena and Damon."
