Trouble in store for Dales' Chas

Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter has predicted a stressful summer for her character, Chas Dingle.

Feisty Chas is embroiled in a risky romance with her pregnant niece Debbie's boyfriend Cameron, who is prepared to leave the mum-to-be for his new flame.

Lucy explained to Inside Soap: "Chas is really shocked when Cameron initially suggests going official, and says no.

"I don't think she's thought about the possibility of them as a couple, and the enormity of it hasn't actually sunk in."

The mum-of-one revealed Chas decides to wait until her niece has given birth before going public.

"Rather than seeing Debbie go through the heartache of having to deal with this while she's still carrying a child, Chas decides she and Cameron have to hang on until the baby's born and carry on together in secret," she said.

"I don't think that it's going to be a plain sailing, happy-go-lucky summer for Chas. But that's exactly what I want as an actress. It's great fun when she has lots of trouble!"
