Game Of Thrones author George RR Martin has spoken of his excitement that his boyhood fantasy figure Diana Rigg is set to join the show's cast.
The author of the series of fantasy novels A Song Of Ice And Fire told Access Hollywood that he used to be "madly in love" with the Avengers star.
"Diana Rigg, man, she's a legend," he said.
"She was the hottest woman on television or like - in the world - and I was madly in love with her... like all the other boys of my generation."
The actress is set to play Lady Olenna Tyrell, or The Queen Of Thorns, when the hit US show returns for a third season.
