Sykes: Twitter talk 'just banter'
Melanie Sykes will carry on using Twitter despite the fuss over her saucy banter
Melanie Sykes has admitted her saucy Twitter talk with her boyfriend was "just banter".
The TV presenter - who presents ITV1 cooking show Let's Do Lunch: With Gino And Mel - admitted she was 'giddy' when she sent risque Twitter messages to toyboy Jack Cockings.
"It's part and parcel of being so known and being on TV, but it was just banter and I was very giddy at the time," she said.
The 41-year-old added: "That's all I've got to say about it, to be honest. I've said all I wanted to say about it really."
Melanie, who has two children with her ex-husband, Italian actor Daniel Caltagirone, previously told The Sun that she's a "cheeky gal".
She has no plans to stop using the social networking site in the wake of the scandal.
"I love Twitter because I communicate with my followers and I love communicating - that's what I do and that's what I do best," she said.
"I like to have a dialogue with people that follow me. I consider them friends, as I've met a lot of people on there."
:: Let's Do Lunch: With Gino And Mel will return to ITV1 from July 9.
