Sutton looks for villainous roles

James Sutton joked that his ability to win bad guy roles was hampered by his lack of facial hair
James Sutton has revealed that he would like to play a baddie on screen.
The 29-year-old actor, who previously played Ryan Lamb in Emmerdale and John Paul McQueen in Hollyoaks, joked that his lack of facial hair may prove to be a disadvantage though.
"I haven't played enough bad boys in my career. But I think I don't look like someone who's going to be bad. I won't be cast as the murderer at the moment, because I still look about 12," he said.
"I think the parts for blokes get better as we get older because our faces become more worn-in - we improve with age. I would love to play some nasty b******* but I will have to wait until I can grow some facial hair, which would probably be a help," he added.
James - who has set up his own pop-up acting company, Broken Leg Workshops, where he will give budding thespians tips about the industry - revealed that a character like Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) would be his dream role.
"I love working with Jeff Hordley on Emmerdale. Wow, what an actor. He can play such an evil character that people care about," he said.
"It takes real skill to play a character audiences can hate and sympathise with at the same time. But he's got that wonderful and interesting face, and I can't even grow any facial hair! I've got the skin of someone who has never done an honest day's work in his life," he quipped.
