Stage role for Doctor Who star
Arthur Darvill is heading back to the stage with a new musical work
Doctor Who star Arthur Darvill is regenerating and returning to the stage as a theatrical composer.
The actor and musician, who bowed out of the hit BBC1 science-fiction show recently, has written the score for a new play at Shakespeare's Globe on London's South Bank.
The work, The Lightning Child by Che Walker, will have its first performance next year.
It marks a return to the venue for Arthur who appeared at the Globe in a production of Doctor Faustus.
Viewers saw him leave the show along with his on-screen wife Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan, at the end of the latest series.
He starred alongside Matt Smith's Doctor Who in a series of adventures for two years.
