Soap star O'Connor's odd invite
Daniel O'Connor plays Ally Gorman in Hollyoaks
Hollyoaks and former Neighbours star Daniel O'Connor revealed a fan once complained to soap bosses that he hadn't replied to her letters.
The 33-year-old Australian actor plays medic Ally Gorman in Hollyoaks and used to star as Ramsay Street's Ned Parker. He told Inside Soap magazine how one devoted fan invited him to come and stay with her.
Dan explained: "When I was on Neighbours there was this woman from Britain who used to send me packages with things like wristbands and a cassette called 'PS I Love You'.
"I found out later that she'd written a complaint letter to the production office, saying that I hadn't responded to her invitation to come and see her and stay on her new settee in her bungalow!
"I did send her a signed fan card eventually, and said thanks for all the gifts."
The singer and actor joined Hollyoaks in January but confessed he misses the Australian beaches and weather since moving to the UK.
He said: "When I lived in Sydney I was about half an hour from the beach so we were there pretty much every weekend. It's the done thing Down Under."
