Sharon (Letitia Dean) gets emotional when she thinks about the loss of Dennis Rickman

EastEnders' Sharon Watts has an emotional breakdown on the steps of the Queen Vic, as she remembers Dennis Rickman's death.

Sharon (Letitia Dean) has just returned to Albert Square, a place that holds many memories for her, including the tragic loss of her lover and adoptive half-brother Dennis Rickman, who died in her arms in the pub.

When her son Dennis Jr goes missing, Sharon panics and goes on a frantic search of the Square.

When she finds him outside The Vic she holds him close and blurts out that this is where his father died.

Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) happens to be walking her own son to school and sees Sharon is in need of a friend.

The two women got off to a bad start when Tanya walked in to find Sharon in a state of undress with her husband Max, as he had been lending her some clothes.

But sharing this emotional moment could be the start of a new friendship for the two strong women.

Letitia said: ""It's great because they're both quite feisty and I'm hoping that they'll end up being quite good friends."

The scenes will air on BBC One on Friday September 7 2012.
