Shaffer: I'd like to play Theresa

Hollyoaks actress Anna Shaffer has revealed that she would like to swap roles with co-star Jorgie Porter.

The 20-year-old, who plays Ruby Button on the Channel 4 soap, admitted she wouldn't mind playing Theresa McQueen.

"Theresa McQueen - she's a bada**, but girly!" she told the soap's official website.

Anna, who previously played Romilda Vane in three of the Harry Potter films before she joined Hollyoaks in 2011, hopes she isn't like her TV alter-ego.

"She means well! Ruby is just a bit lost and easily led. She can definitely be b****y but I think she's been misguided," she explained.

"I hope I'm not quite as pathetic as Ruby! But I can definitely relate to the struggles she goes through growing up."

Ruby will do what she can to persuade her boyfriend Jono (played by Dylan Llewellyn) not to go in the Army in scenes to be shown from October 29, but he has hatched a plan so he can follow his dream while continuing his romance.

Anna teased: "Something VERY exciting that's coming up soooo soon, but my lips are sealed. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it..."

However, in real life, the actress joked that she has a crush on co-star Jimmy McKenna (Jack Osborne): "He's got a twinkle in his eye!"
