Neighbours' Sophie Ramsay is set to battle it out against a genuine Aussie chart star at an open mic night.

Andy Clemmensen, the bass player and singer for Australian pop punk band Short Stuck, is making a cameo in the soap as singer Harry Vass.

Rebellious teen Sophie, played by Kaiya Jones, enters the open mic night at Charlie's bar and finds herself competing against talented singer Harry.

Andy - who started his music career aged 12 when he used to busk - popped into Ramsay Street to film the cameo while on a break from touring with the band.

The open mic night will air scenes on Channel 5 in December, when viewers will find out who wins the singing competition.
