Paloma Faith set to join The Voice
Paloma Faith will work with the contestants on The Voice
Contestants on The Voice will get a little help from friends including Paloma Faith and Cerys Matthews when they join the talent show later this month.
Paloma will team up with Danny O'Donoghue to help mentor his acts on the BBC1 show and Cerys, who shot to fame as lead singer of Catatonia, will join forces with her countryman Tom Jones.
Scissor Sisters singer Ana Matronic will help out Jessie J and Will.i.am will be joined by his long-term collaborator Dante Santiago.
The show, based on a hit format from the United States, sees singers take part in blind auditions with the coaches showing their approval for an act by swinging round in their chairs to catch a first glimpse.
It is locked in a Saturday night ratings war with ITV's Britain's Got Talent, with both shows pulling in millions of viewers.
Meanwhile, The Mirror reported that viewers will see Will.i.am's angry side for the first time during a clash on Saturday's BBC One show with rival coach Jessie over a 21-year-old that they both want to mentor.
"There was one point where my team came in and expressed concerns on the banter between the coaches. I am the most unconfrontational man in the world - it is not my style - but that was the first time they have ever seen that side of me and they were like, 'Will, what are you doing?', the US star said.
"They pulled me back in the dressing room and told me that I should not be doing that. They said it certainly didn't look like banter."
