No romance for Neighbours pair

Neighbours hunk Chris Milligan has revealed that his alter-ego Kyle Canning will not rekindle his romance with Kate Ramsay.

Kyle is set to be left "shattered" after girlfriend Jade Mitchell's forthcoming exit, but the actor insisted that he doesn't see his character returning to his ex.

"I think that ship has sailed. I don't think Kate and Kyle will get back together, not after what has happened. I think they're better off as friends anyway," he said.

Chris - who is single in real life - reckoned Kyle would stay a single man for a while following the real-life departure of co-star Gemma Pranita, who plays feisty fitness trainer Jade. Her exit scenes will be shown in the UK on Channel 5 in December.

"Kyle and Jade took so long to get together, and Kyle worked so hard with her so it shatters him when she goes overseas. He gets a bit down on himself but he'll get through it," he explained.

The actor is unsure about what the future holds for the couple.

"He would love her there with him 24/7 but that's not the case. The long-distance thing will be too hard for Kyle because he needs her around."

He added: "I think it'll break his heart if and when they break up. I think he'll stay a bachelor for a bit, but Kyle's one of these guys who will try to find love again, especially if there's a girl chasing him. For the moment, I don't think anything is on the cards."
