Anthony Moon is quitting Albert Square, EastEnders star Matt Lapinskas has revealed.
The antiques shop manager, who arrived in Walford last July, will have his exit aired in coming weeks, Digital Spy reports.
Matt told the website: "I'm having a fantastic time working on EastEnders and playing the role of Anthony Moon. Working with David Essex and Tony Discipline (Anthony's dad Eddie and brother Tyler) and the EastEnders cast has been an absolute pleasure.
"Although I will really miss EastEnders and everyone involved, I am very excited about future projects and what is next for me as an actor."
Meanwhile, The Sun reports that the soap has been left "in crisis" after ratings fell to less than six million.
The soap pulled in an average of 5.7 million viewers this week compared with Coronation Street's 8.4 million viewers.
