Lynsey murder shock in Hollyoaks

Hollyoaks fans were left stunned when nurse Lynsey Nolan was found murdered, sparking an exciting new Who Dunnit? storyline.

The storyline had been kept so top secret that actress Karen Hassan wasn't even allowed to have her leaving party until after the episode had aired on E4.

Karen tweeted: "Goodbye Lynsey Nolan... It's been a ball. Thank you ‪Hollyoaks‬ these 2 years have been so wonderful. N all u guys who've supported me.

"U have such beautiful friends thanks all the oaks gang. Ure amazing!! Love u loads.

"Thanks everyone for a fantastic farewell... I'll miss everyone."

Bad boy Brendan Brady, played by Emmett J Scanlan, was devastated when he discovered her body, but now viewers will be left wondering who killed her.

The Irish nurse had an enemy in serial killer Silas Blissett, played by Jeff Rawle, as she always suspected him and previously came close to being killed by him several times. Jeff is set to return to the show in upcoming episodes, putting Silas in the frame.

Mercedes McQueen, played by Jennifer Metcalfe, is a suspect as she wanted to keep Lynsey from revealing it was her who had been stalking Mitzeee Minniver.

Other characters who wanted to keep their secrets hidden from Lynsey include Ally Gorman and Walker, and Brendan's enemy also has a motive for killing her, to get back at Brendan.
