Lucy Beale and Joey Branning are reportedly being lined-up by EastEnders bosses to become the soap's new young couple.
Plans are afoot for teenage tearaway Lucy, played by Hetti Bywater, and newcomer Joey (David Witts), to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Sharon and Grant, The Sun said.
An insider was quoted as saying: "Hetti is a really good actress and they have brought in David as the perfect foil."
Joey gets close to Lucy after offering to help her out with her money troubles, following his entrance this week.
He is on her side when his gangster dad Derek Branning starts to terrorise Lucy, The Sun said.
Hetti made her first appearance on the BBC One soap in January, taking over the role from Melissa Suffield.
