Judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Mel B, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh hunt for the next big singing star.
Louis Walsh a safe seat on X Factor
Louis Walsh is reportedly safe on the X Factor panel
Louis Walsh will return to The X Factor for his tenth year on the judging panel, it has been reported.
The Irish music manager is a close friend of show boss Simon Cowell, and is safe from the dramatic reshuffle Simon has promised, according to The Sun.
A friend of Louis told the newspaper: "He's been told by the heads of entertainment at ITV that he's coming back and [executive producer] Richard Holloway has also said he'll be back.
"Obviously he wants to see the contract in his hand but everyone who has the power to make a decision on it has said he's coming back so if that changes something very odd has gone on.
"Normally it's Simon who upsets the apple cart at the last minute but he's been desperate to keep Louis on the show so he's unlikely to give him the axe.
"He's always said he wants to do 10 series of the show."
Earlier this month Simon tweeted: "There will be a lot of changes on X factor uk and USA. But good changes. I feel excited for both shows this year."
It has been reported that Tulisa Contostavlos faces the chop from the judging panel, and former judge Sharon Osbourne is tipped to return in her place.
Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger are currently thought to be returning as well, but Simon is known to change his mind at the last minute.
He axed Cheryl Cole from the US X Factor just a week into auditions for the show.
