Lewis drops his Homeland teaser
Damian Lewis has been filming a second season of Homeland
Damian Lewis has given a little teaser as to what is coming up for his alter-ego Nicholas Brody in the second season of Homeland.
The British actor, who plays Frank Haskins in The Sweeney, doesn't want to give too much away about what's in store for the Marine Sergeant, who is now chasing his political aspirations.
"Brodie has stated very clearly that he would like to use non-violent means to achieve his political ends and he is not going to find that as easy as he thinks," he teased.
Damian, who is up for a best actor Emmy nod, admitted he's trying to take his nomination in his stride.
"I'm excited. I have no thoughts of winning it. Just being nominated and showing up to enjoy it will be fun," he said.
"I come from a theatre background where these things are not meant to matter, but when you are nominated for something ... you get to spend a weekend with people you just really admire and respect, and are all trying their hardest to do phenomenal work. It's just great to be at the top table with them for a bit."
The 41-year-old, who stars alongside Claire Danes and fellow Brit David Harewood in the tense drama, admitted that the show's success has been a bit of a surprise.
"I've never been in something that has hit that instantly - within a week of it being on, everyone was talking about it," he said.
The second series of Homeland will air on Channel 4 in October.
