EastEnders star Jake Wood has revealed he felt a fatherly pride when co-star Lorna Fitzgerald won a British Soap Award.

The actor, who plays Max Branning, took home an award of his own at the ceremony earlier this year, along with Jo Joyner who plays his ex Tanya Jessop and Lorna who plays their youngest daughter Abi Branning. He told Inside Soap magazine how pleased he was for the actress.

Jake said: "Of all the awards I think I was most pleased about Lorna. She's a 16-year-old now and has been in the show since she was 10.

"Jacqueline [Jossa who plays Max's old daughter Lauren] has been phenomenal too. They're both so level-headed and down to earth."

Tanya is set to propose to Max, suggesting they make things official again after reigniting their romance.

Jake said: "It would be Max's absolute dream to marry Tanya again. He's 100 per cent committed to her, and if she wants a big wedding he'll go along with it."
