Johnny Ruffo is swapping singing for acting on Home And Away
Aussie pop hunk Johnny Ruffo is set to join the cast of Home And Away.
The singer, who was a finalist in Australian X Factor in 2011, claimed the glitter ball in the 12th series of Dancing With The Stars earlier this year and toured with One Direction. And now he is preparing to win over the ladies of Summer Bay as globetrotter Chris.
Johnny told Australia's The Morning Show: "It is almost like they've written the character just for me. He is fun and cheeky, he's a bit of a ladies' man and a little bit cheesy like me. He's a traveller who has been around, much like myself."
The singer, who studied drama at school, added: "I always wanted to drama. I'm a big fan of the arts in general, singing, dancing and acting, and I always wanted to get in there.
"And Home And Away is a great platform for that. Everyone there is great so it's going to be great."
