Hollyoaks uses real gun in robbery
Stephanie Davis' character Sinead O'Connor is held up at gun point
Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davies has revealed the tension on set when a real gun was used in filming dramatic armed robbery scenes.
Stephanie's character Sinead O'Connor is the victim of an armed robbery at the village shop Price Slice when a gun is pulled during the raid.
She said: "We used a real gun on set, although it wasn't loaded. We went through all of the health and safety checks and had an expert overseeing it.
"In the final scene the gun actually had to be fired which really added to the tension of the scene."
The actress reassured fans that all of the scenes were completely safe and said they really took their time over getting everything right.
She said: "People think soaps are done really quickly, but each scene of the robbery took about two hours to film. It was a full day."
Stephanie was exhausted after filming that week as she went into filming birth scenes the very next day.
Her character Sinead goes into labour in an abandoned petrol station with only Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) to deliver the baby.
Sinead mercilessly bullied Esther in a previous storyline but Stephanie thinks the birth will help to repair their relationship.
She said: "Sinead keeps on saying she can't do it until Esther cracks her right across the face and tells her to get on with it. I think all the Esther fans will be cheering at that one."
