Gormley: Filming took its toll

Home And Away's Lisa Gormley has revealed her character's postnatal psychosis storyline often left her tearful.

The actress plays Summer Bay resident Bianca Scott, who has been suffering from the illness after giving birth prematurely to a baby boy with Heath Braxton (Dan Ewing).

Digital Spy reports that Lisa told Australia's TV Week: "There were days where I would want to cry and get home from filming and just want to sleep.

"But I love that they throw these things at my character because it's important to tell stories, and these stories aren't always pretty."

Lisa said her character is in denial about the psychosis.

"Bianca is convinced her baby is dead and everyone is lying to her. In her mind, she's fine and there's nothing wrong with her, but unfortunately she's actually very sick," she explained.

"Her family and friends don't really know what to do. It's meant to be a really beautiful time in their lives, but sadly she's not in the same reality as them and they're worried and want her back."
