Freddie Highmore to play Psycho

Freddie Highmore will play Norman Bates in a TV prequel
Freddie Highmore is to star as Norman Bates in a prequel spin-off TV series of classic horror film Psycho.
The 20-year-old British actor - who starred opposite Johnny Depp in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and in The Spiderwick Chronicles - has been cast to play the creepy motel owner in new TV show Bates Motel, Deadline reported.
Vera Farmiga will co-star as his mother Norma Bates.
The show is set to examine the twisted relationship between Norman and Norma and reveal the reason why he becomes the serial killer with a dangerous obsession with his mum, made famous in Alfred Hitchcock's celebrated film.
Bates Motel will be Freddie's US TV debut.
