Ewing: Parenthood causes tension

Home And Away's Dan Ewing has revealed that his character Heath is facing a tough time proving that he is a trustworthy dad.

The new dad has welcomed home baby Rocco, following his premature birth, but girlfriend Bianca's niggling doubts soon begin to rock their relationship.

"Heath is a bit of a boofhead, so it's not strange that she should be worried... but Heath is obviously in love with his son and would do anything for him," the actor told Australia's TV Week.

Bianca (Lisa Gormley) decides to persuade Irene (played by Lynne McGranger) to stay with Rocco so that Heath is not left alone with the baby, but this upsets Heath.

"She apologises and Heath is pretty receptive to the apology, and there's a bit of back and forth," he explained.

But Rocco soon returns to hospital, and Heath decides not to let Bianca know.

"Heath packs up his bag and takes Rocco to the hospital, but doesn't think to tell Bianca. He just wants to be left to look after his own kid, and that creates tension," Dan added.

The storyline, which will air next week on Australian screens, will be shown on Channel 5 in November.
