Demi Lovato has got friendly with Niall Horan of One Direction
Simon Cowell has jokingly told Demi Lovato to "stay away" from One Direction's Niall Horan.
The TV mogul made the comment to the US X Factor judge, after she passed on a hello from Niall in a behind-the-scenes clip from the new series, which is set to launch today (September 12).
A surprised Simon replied: "From One Direction? Keep away from him - he's pure."
Demi, who has joined the judging panel alongside Simon, Britney Spears and LA Reid, continued: "Excuse me? I'm not looking for anything. I'm not going to date anybody for a whole year and I made that clear to him."
When Simon asked if she had kissed him, the 20-year-old laughed and said no.
The actress, who has starred in Disney film series Camp Rock with the Jonas Brothers, and the Irish boyband singer have been linked since Niall admitted they had shared several conversations on Skype.
They have reportedly met up, following the MTV Video Music Awards, where One Direction picked up three awards.
