Corrie's Kirsty consumed with guilt
Natalie Gumede said her Corrie alter-ego has tried to get away from her parents
Coronation Street's Kirsty Soames is set to walk out on fiance Tyrone Dobbs after she attacks him.
Pregnant policewoman Kirsty, played by Natalie Gumede, lashes out at Tyrone (Alan Halsall) after he invites her parents over as a birthday treat for her.
Natalie told Inside Soap mag, out on Tuesday: "Tyrone's planning a surprise birthday party for Kirsty, despite the fact she doesn't want any fuss.
"Kirsty's done everything she can to get away from (her mum and dad), particularly her father. That's why they've never been introduced to Tyrone. She's suffered an abusive relationship with her dad."
When Kirsty sees her father, she ends up angrily attacking her fiance.
"(Tyrone) runs out of the house and the next day Kirsty decides to leave. She hates herself for hitting Tyrone and knows it's for the best," Natalie revealed.
