Comic Bishop takes on 2012 review

John Bishop will deliver a comic review of the year in the show
John Bishop has landed a new BBC One show in which he will deliver a comic review of the year - tackling everything from the discovery of the "God particle" to Fifty Shades Of Grey.
The funnyman will perform a pair of stand-up shows analysing the events of the past 12 months to be screened later this year.
John Bishop's Big Year is also expected to look at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the London Olympics and the miserable wet June weather.
The comedian had his own challenge during the year as he took part in a gruelling journey from Paris to London for Sport Relief with a punishing cycle ride, a row across the English Channel and back-to-back marathons on consecutive days.
John said: "At the end of every year newspapers and magazines often do a summary of the world in pictures reflecting back on the year just passed.
"John Bishop's Big Year is a much more alive version of those retrospectives - with footage from actual events interspersed with our very own comedy sketches and narratives, celebrating what has been a momentous year."
Executive producer of the show Karl Warner said: "2012 has been a massive year for Great Britain and who better to make sense of it all than John?"
