Comedian Peter Kay joins X Factor?

Peter Kay is reportedly joining The X Factor team for the first day of auditions.

The comedian is apparently a huge fan of the show and The Sun reports he has offered his services to close friend and judge Gary Barlow as a warm-up act to get the crowd going at the Liverpool auditions.

An insider said: "Peter loves reality TV. He is also good mates with Gary and wanted to have a taste of it. He rang up the producers on the show and asked to be part of the team in Liverpool.

"He'll do a few gags and he may even throw in a Take That number."

Peter famously spoofed reality TV talent shows for his Channel 4 show Peter Kay's Britain's Got The Pop Factor... And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice.

Gary surprised Peter at his comedy gig at Manchester arena last year and the pair performed an impromptu sing-along of Never Forget in front of the 15,000-strong audience.
