Cheryl Fergison goes to the Spa

Cheryl Fergison is swapping the East End for the spa.

The actress - who was axed from the soap at the beginning of this year - is to star in a sitcom penned by the creator of Benidorm.

Cheryl told her Twitter followers: "Just been to rehearsals for Derren Litten's new TV show The Spa."

She added: "Start filming next week, funny scripts, am enjoying too much."

Cheryl played Heather Trott for almost five years.

She was recently tipped to appear in Celebrity Big Brother when it returns on Channel 5 later this year, clinching a reported £175,000 deal.

The actress, who last year married Moroccan goat herder Yassine Al-Jermoni, who is 20 years her junior, after they met online, will appear in the new sitcom, set in a Hertfordshire spa, on Sky Living later this year.
