Catherine Tyldesley's hair caught on fire
Catherine Tyldesley got more than she bargained for with her birthday cake - when her hair burst into flames.
The Corrie actress, who plays feisty landlady's daughter Eva Price, was enjoying her 29th birthday in Manchester with celebrity friends when the accident happened.
Co-star Antony Cotton - factory worker Sean Tully on the soap - leapt up and smothered the flames before they got out of control.
Catherine tweeted: "Can't believe my hair caught fire on my birthday cake. God damn you hairspray. Tonight Antony Cotton saved my life... Now my hair smells... Bad."
She added later: "So even though I set my hair on fire... the celebrations of leaving the womb all those years ago have been wonderful!"
Antony tweeted: "Cath Tyldesley has just set her hair on fire. Actual fire. I put it out but the ... room smells of burning bush..."
