Bieber tries his luck on Simpsons

Justin Bieber is to make a cameo on The Simpsons as a talent show contestant.

The teen heartthrob couldn't contain his excitement at being asked to voice a guest role on the hit cartoon and let it slip to his fans on Twitter.

Justin wrote in a post which has since been deleted "just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy [sic]"

But The Simpsons executive producer Al Jean has confirmed the Baby singer's appearance on the show to Entertainment Weekly.

Al said: "He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won't admit him. Draw your own conclusions.

"It's a cameo, but all of his fans should watch every minute of the show, before and after he's on."

The episode, called The Fabulous Faker Boy, is due to air in 2013 as part of the 24th season, which begins in September in the US on Fox.

Justin is one of many famous faces to appear in The Simpsons recently. Other high profile guest spots include Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Edward Norton and Steve Carell.
