BGT judge Walliams 'a revelation'

Simon Cowell is full of praise for fellow BGT judge David Walliams
Britain's Got Talent supremo Simon Cowell has described David Walliams as a "revelation" on the show.
The TV mogul had tried for two years to get the funnyman to appear on the ITV talent show and his persistence finally paid off when Walliams agreed to take a seat on the judging panel alongside Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon for the sixth series, which starts tomorrow.
"I absolutely knew instinctively, and I hope everyone agrees, that he would be a star on this show. I knew that he would be brilliant. He was a revelation. He's unpredictable too," he said.
Cowell revealed the Little Britain star was his top choice because of his wacky sense of humour.
"I have been trying to get David to do this show for the past two years. I have been pushing, pushing, pushing and when I found out that he was considering it this year, I still wasn't sure whether he would do it or not," he said. "You've got to have the right kind of comedian with you, that gets the natural humour. You have to be a great observer, you have to like people and watching him on these shows - some of his characters were like our contestants."
He added: "There were these two bellringers last year and I texted him to say, 'It is you and Matt [Lucas].' It was identical. So I thought he would really fit into that kind of British eccentric humour."
Cowell also revealed there were more sparks flying between the new-look panel this year.
"I had a good time. Actually, these two - Amanda and Alesha - got a bit feisty, particularly this one," he said, looking at Dixon.
"It got to a point where we were teasing her and teasing her. It was constant and she sort of snapped on certain occasions."
