Coronation Street's Michael Le Vell has said Sally and Kevin Webster would be back together already if it wasn't for baby Jack.

Kevin is left trying to make an impossible decision when ex-wife Sally (played by Sally Dynevor) tells him she can't accept Jack - his son with his late mistress Molly Dobbs - as her own son.

Michael told Inside Soap magazine: "Kevin hasn't made any headway getting Sally back because the Jack issue has always been a no go for her.

"I think they'd have both got back together ages ago, if it wasn't for little Jack."

Michael and Sally have both said they would love the Websters to reunite, but Kevin can't bear to give up his son.

The couple - who have been married twice - have been on and off since their first wedding in 1986, last splitting in 2011 when Sally found out about Kevin's affair with Molly, who confessed as she lay dying after the tram crash in the Street.

They have found solace in each other's arms several times since their last split.

Michael said: "It depends on what the plot would be, but I really love working with Sally.

"I leave all that in the hands of our great story-writing team - with them, you never know what's around the corner."
