Woodburne sad at co-star's exit
Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy) was sad to see Dan Fitzgerald go
Neighbours' Jackie Woodburne has expressed her regret at the departure of one of her co-stars.
The actress, who plays mother hen Susan Kennedy in the Aussie soap, said it was sad to lose screen son-in-law Dan Fitzgerald (Brett Tucker).
Jackie said: "I for one am very disappointed that he left the show - I loved working with him."
She and Brett worked closely on an long-running storyline, which saw Susan act as surrogate for Dan and her daugher Libby (Kym Valentine).
The surrogacy process created plenty of friction between Susan and Dan, but in real life the pair tried bring light relief to filming the gruelling scenes.
She said: "Brett's gorgeous. He's a lovely actor and a lovely fellow and he's so easy to work with. While we were doing this very intense dramatic story we always had a laugh in their somewhere."
On UK screens next week, the tension will come to a head.
Pregnant Susan will lose her footing and fall over after a heated row, which leads to her losing the baby.
Of filming the scenes, Jackie said: "It was a very, very gruelling few weeks. Obviously for all of us it was a very difficult few weeks of story."
