TV's Collins guilty of harassing ex

PA
A jury at St Albans Crown Court heard that the 38-year-old subjected the video games public relations worker to sustained emotional and domestic abuse during their seven-month relationship, and made her write down in a Pukka pad all her previous sexual encounters regardless of how graphic.
The court was told that Collins made her sleep facing him, throw away DVDs because they featured actors she found attractive and made death threats against her.
Bearded, long-haired Collins, who appeared in court wearing a shirt, black blazer and jeans, did not show any emotion as the verdict was announced.
During the trial, the jury heard that Collins, who made a name for himself as a host on Channel 4's The Friday Night Project, was a controlling, jealous boyfriend who assaulted Ms Larke. The court was told he made her write down every sexual encounter she had ever had and stopped her using social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter after reading her messages.
Jurors were played a secret recording she made of him verbally abusing her during a row, in which he called her a "f****** slag", a "dirty vile whore", and a "f****** sex addict". He said the recording showed him at his worst but denied all her other claims.
Ms Larke claimed Collins attacked her in a hotel room in Miami in March last year.
Giving evidence to the court, Ms Larke said she had not shown her doctor her bruises because she did not want to get Collins into trouble. "I didn't want to do it to Justin. He was the love of my life," she said.
Speaking from behind a screen, the recovering alcoholic described being terrified about Collins returning from a trip to Las Vegas because she had failed to attend one of two AA meetings which she had told him she would attend. "I remember his ringing me and shouting abuse down the phone to me. I was petrified about him coming back. Absolutely petrified," she said.
Judge John Plumstead sentenced Collins to carry out 140 hours unpaid work within the next 18 months and he was also ordered to pay £3,500 in prosecution costs.

I don't like control freaks, male or female. Vile people.
JLC will bear the scars of this forever. If he does stand-up, he'll be heckled. Fellow comedians will make reference to the case. Tough luck, pal.......you asked for it.
You deserve all you get you sick bastard
...and he's not the first or last of these showbiz types who are found to be sick, vile, scum behind the scenes.
a face only his mother could love-he'd drive a saint to drink i should imagine-and any man who treats a woman like that-making a sex diary etc-needs serious help.
he's about as funny as toothache-and he needs to look in the mirror-the only thing funny about him-IS him !!!!
that picture just just cries out "oh woe is me" should have thought about that before you become a domestic tyrant-horrible slimy unfunny bastard.
collins should not be allow to work on tv ever again.
Hmmm .. funny that she didn't want to her doctor the "supposed" bruises bceause she didn't want to get Collins in trouble! .. But when he finishes with her she can't wait to get him in to trouble!
She is a recovering alcoholic now but was an alcoholic whilst they were dating! We all know that alcoholics have a loose grip on reality as they are out of their heads most of the time and am sure most people have come across alcoholics and seen how they are unreasonable and can be violent a lot of the time they are under the influence!
So on the basis of one, just one recording (which he could have been trapped or coerced into), they convicted him of harrassing her!
Never even heard of him.
Just look at the state of him.
What a loser and waste of space and oxygen.
That'll defo teach him - £3500 - that's not even a week's wages for the thug. Well done Judge John Plumstead - what a wonderful advert to all the other wife/girlfriend beaters out there. They now know they can continue to kick the living **** out of their insignificant others without any serious recourse. Another judicial triumph.
