A mere hours away from its ITV1 premiere, I was lucky enough to be invited for a sneak peek around the rehearsal studios for Andrew Lloyd Webbers long-awaited talent show, Superstar. Over-excited doesn't even come close!

Sorry, I can't tell you the venue as this is all top secret, but I watched the lucky finalists preparing for what could be the biggest break of their life - a chance to win the role of Jesus in Lord Webber's classic musical, Jesus Christ Superstar.

Comedian Dawn French and actor/singer Jason Donovan will aid the music mogul's search for his lead in the live segment of the competition. Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden is the host of the live heats.

Andrew Lloyd Webber - or should I call him Lord Andy? - introduced his protégées alongside a fantastic live band and a throng of frenetic dancers, perfectly complementing the impressive ensemble.

I can't say too much about the show, my oh my, I'm hyped! The boys are some of the best singers I've ever heard - and their harmonies are heart-meltingly fab.

Kicking off on 7 July, the format will see two weekends of audition shows and an entire week of live shows in which the public will have their say as to who should be crowned the winner. ITV1 is clearly gearing up for a summer of song.

Superstar will find a Jesus for an arena tour of the hit musical which also stars ex-Spice Girl Mel C (Mary Magdalene), Tim Minchin (Judas Iscariot) and Radio 1's Chris Moyles (King Herod).

Watch this space: I predict a tough battle!
