The Only Way Is Essex star Lauren Goodger has lashed out at the vandals who recently petrol-bombed her new salon in Buckhurst Hill.

Her beauty salon, Lauren's Way, was targeted by vandals who threw petrol bombs through the windows, causing a fire and the flats above the salon to be evacuated.

In an interview with the Daily Star, Lauren said: "I'm devastated that individuals could vandalise my new shop. I didn't realise there were so many nasty and bitter people out there."

The television star also added that she was glad that no one was injured in the event - she said: "I'm just glad that no-one was in the shop at the time as the attack could have been a lot worse".

But Lauren isn't the only TOWIE star to have suffered misfortune in recent years, we take a look at other cast members who have also had a hard time...

I never watch these stupid reality shows. My attention was drawn to the "firebombing" flag.

Honestly,I cannot for the life of me get my head round the comments of someone who seems to suggest that if you appear in one of these infantile programs, you have to accept this sort of backlash?

WHAT???

Scuse me folks, but this is"riots is OK mentality.

Loonytunes,or what??

Never watched TOWIE or those other brainless programmes like Geordie Shore. But if you are a publicity seeking egotist who participates in this sort of crap programming to get yourself noticed you've gotta take the rough with the smooth. Wanton vadalism and violence cannot be condoned but it cannot come as a surprise!

Its not cursed its just a pox upon society influencing impressionable young people to act like the  nobrainers in the show, glamourising superficiality. Okay maybe its not that bad but its still cringing and if you watch this show for genuine enjoyment and not for satirical purposes you may suffer from dumb ****isis and should seek medical help immediately. Dont get me started on made in chelsea every single one of those inbreds should be beaten to death with a **** soaked mop

She didn't realise that there were so many nasty and bitter people out there. I'm sorry but maybe if she watched the news about the real world instead of living in her scripted/reality world she'd know that there's crap walking all over the planet. I'm glad no one got hurt, but it could have been targeted even if it wasn't her shop.

I feel so sad no one atall should be treated like this. They should put

something happier on after it so the sadness will go.

These shows work best when the participants have some kind of trauma.

Wouldn't it be awful if, in a few years time it was revealed that some TV executive had a hand in their misery just to boost the ratings?

No. I didn't think so either.

I've personally never watched TOWIE, and nor would I ever wish to. These people don't deserve renown or money for what they are. Whatever happened to letting talented, original or entertaining people and programming onto the TV?
I don't condone the behaviour of these criminals, but if you're going to air to the world that you're an uneducated, vein ****/man-****, and that you're getting rich because of that, then you've almost got to expect some form of people wanting to take out their issues on you. And even if some of the crimes enacted are due to jealousy, I think these TOWIE-lovers have to understand that not EVERYONE is jealous of these people. I personally would never trade my life with anyone of the TOWIE cast, and I don't know many people that would.

Chris X "We" being anyone I guess over 30 still have values. Young people with their gizmo's and gadgets txt spk and reality tv where people with 1 gcse are promoted as successful people are value less. They don't even know they are born.

I'd certainly agree with you here. Having a child of my own I'm determined that he grows older with the sort of decency and respect I was taught by my own parents.

It seems to be more difficult these days to educate against the norm. This is the problem, children are heavily influenced by their peers and the media. Unless we collectively say this isn't good enough things will never improve. I'm not against personal freedom, and I believe not allowing any lack of discrimination against this sort of program has little to do with democracy, and is simply more about the cynical manipulation by those that should no better.

Our greater freedom is being massively undermined by a greedy corporate media that is simply giving into an increasingly popular fashion for poor taste and immorality, and this is the point while the majority stay past caring, we see society being gradually eroded by the sheer brute force of commercial interest.

In the past the ruling establishment owned the media, today it belongs to media tycoons who have no interest in endorsing a decent society with good citizenship .As long as we continue to put our heads in the sand and say 'so what' we continue to be part of an increasingly dreadful problem that will continue to conspire against our best interests. So long as we don't care less, the cynical minority will continue to thrive and destroy the very system designed to care for us all.

To be honest I've never watched the programme, not even to see what all the fuss is about. I am set in my ways and don't see the allure of reality programmes. It struck me though that, despite TV and the film industry being around since the 1920s, there have been relatively few attacks on the stars of the relative media. In contrast, call it modern society or a genuine disgust at the number of talentless wannabes on modern TV, this seems to be a growing trend these days. Not in any way do I condone any attacks that have taken place against these people but I don't find it unusual that some people have resorted to attacking self-promoting, talentless, uninspiring, nauseating characters that fill our screens. Pure jealousy of course because they would also like the chance to become famous without deserving it. I feel sorry for the people who have been attacked but only because they are deluded and believe their troubles count for more than those who struggle "day-in, day-out" to live a normal life. In other words, if you set yourself up to be something you are not, don't be surprised when it goes wrong. Someone earlier on posted that TOWIE was a new low in TV and, although I haven't seen any part of it, I have read about it and would say to that person, "Try watching Desperate Scousewives" because I was unfortunate enough to catch 30 seconds of it and I'm still recovering.
Final thought: Really it's the TV companies who are the only ones that have to answer for any of this. Their lack of new ideas and creativity are unbelievable. They are the really talentless ones.

You have a petrol bomb thrown through your window and describe it as vandalism. You would be terrorised as would most normal people. It's nothing to do with theft or anything else so petty. When you terrorise people it is terrorism and nothing short of it and nothing petty about it whatsoever. I have never watched this reality rubbi**** bad enough watching what goes on in the House of Commons and the House of Lords which is more likely to turn me to terrorism than watching this stuff.

Never watched it and never will. Biggest load of rubbish there is. But many sad people watch this rubbish and as long as people watch it some TV channel will try and force it on us. But i would never wish them to be attacked or anything just because they have done the program and i hope those who did this fire bomb get caught.
