It's the 2012 Daily Mirror Pride of Britain awards and that means it's time to turn the spotlight on inspirational members of the British public.
These awards honour those that have gone over and above, displaying admirable acts of selflessness. The awards are broadcast on ITV1 on Tuesday 30 October from 8pm and, due to the nature of the show and its sponsor, the recipients are not revealed until then.
However, the celebrities that honoured them were out in force. You can see a selection of them in this gallery, but let's start with Carol Vorderman and her new boyfriend Graham Duff. He certainly couldn't keep his eyes off the buxon brunette in her clinging gown!
Their turn on the red carpet was the couple's first public appearance together since they started dating earlier this year. At 37, pilot Graham is a bit of a toy boy for TV presenter Carol, who is 51.

This occasion is about people who deserve and do not ask for recognition. By all means honour these incredible people, but, please, not in front of a 'celebrity' audience of z listers

If this lot were really at the awards to support the unsung heroes, they'd make their way in quietly without fuss instead of parading themselves on the red carpet posing for photos...........'ooooh look at me, aren't I wonderful attending these awards'! Well actually no, you're a bunch of self serving, attention seekers leeching from the real heroes of our nation! The worst part is that while the REAL heroes accept their awards you just know the cameras will be focusing on some so called celeb in the audience with an insincere look of adoration on their faces! Yuk! Shame on the lot of you!
I take my hat off to the real heroes who have earned their right to be there!

I personaly feel sorry for the pride of britain winners,walking up on stage to get an award..... in front of a baying mob of Z list plebs(clebs)who want to latch them selves onto some little unsung heros cause,for their own good.... But i really do question the mental state of the people in the back ground of the pics above.... why stand for hours&hours in the rain to see some no-mark pose in-front of the press!!!

im sorry but I find that whole celebrity thing very false and to buy into ti, you have to be very false too. CV just cant get enough of it. And know she has found someone who persumably like herself is equally as false.
But its probably justified at the end as it pays the bills.

its nothing to do with the unsung heroes, its just a fashion parade for celebs to pose in front of cameras. ask them who the unsung heroes are and what they done, they wouldn't have a clue,.. why dont they have these awards in front of a public audience , who appreciate what they have done ?
