Oh leave the kid alone. He's entitled to enjoy himself a bit and we'd all show-off if we won a medal at 18 and had a body to prove the hours are long. You are lying if you say otherwise. He's worthy of credit and is a good role model for kids. Unlike brats like One Direction and all these lazy assed teens that have had everything handed to them on a plate with next to no talent. And whether he's gay or not, does it really matter? Tom's not a bad kid and really has held his **** together despite the death of a parent, studying for A-Levels and putting in the hours to win a medal as well as meeting his necessary promo commitents. It's not like training doesn't come without cost. I wish I was as sane and sorted at 18 as he is.

Not entirely sure why everyone is making such a big deal about him maybe being gay!? Unless you all want a bit of the action? So why no f**k off and leave the kid alone. He lost his dad this year and still won an olympic medal. Take note slackers, you'd be pushed to achive anything as epic as this kid. Get used to him, he'll be around for a long time!!!!!

I don't get what everyone's got against him? :L He seems a decent lad, I think he's a bit of a role model, coming from a 16 year old i think i know what a role model is these days! He did well in school, has a great sporting career, he seems friendly and approachable and doesn't seem to do any harm to anyone!? Personally I think it's great he went on the Jonathan Ross show with Usain and Ennis. Yeah he's camp but I don't think that should affect people's views on him and I haven't seen the show yet but I sure will tonight to see just how 'obnoxious' and 'cocky' he is according to other people

Basically he's an 18 year old boy having fun. He's the best diver GB have, so you should all be proud of him, I watched him win the European Chamionships a couple of months ago with 6 flawless dives - no one else could touch him. At the Olympics he came 3rd behind an American & Chinese AND beat the 2nd Chinese who was expected to get a gold or silver, which shows that baiscally Europe is behind them in the world rankings. From what we saw, he appears to be popular with both the other male & female divers in the GB squad, so how people are so sure about his sexuality is beyond me. He can be what he wants - Greg Louganis is gay & a far as I am concerned (I am very much a hetero-sexual female) he was one of the most gorgeous divers of about 20 years ago.
Aso how many of those detractors on this comment board, would even have the guts ot jump, let alone dive, with several twists & somersaults, off a 10 metre board? I'm sure the majority would take one look and climb down. And as someone who used to jump off rocks that high in my youth, (I live in the Med) but would now climb down fast, I know what I'm talking about.

I think he has shown enough commitment and courage to deserve peoples respect. His dad died and he kept on going. He's a big brother and effectively the man of the house now so I think he is a credit to his family and to our country(ies).If Tom Daley is the future of youth/adult role models then I think we could do a lot worse. He's doing publicity and having fun with it too. Wouldn't you if you looked like that?!? Maybe the people on here are just a tad jealous or just find it easier to sit at their keyboard and hate people like Tom who get off their backside and do something with their lives. The kids are in bed after a very active and tiring day in the fresh air/woods near our home, so I'm going to put the ironing away and them I'm off out for a run. Toodle-pip! Go Tom!!!

Im GAY and I live in Plymouth, I havn't seen him on our scene, but what if he is, why dont people just let him carry on representing our Nation in the sport that he enjoys and leave his sexual preferences out of it.
