Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones have been announced as the new Daybreak presenters.

ITV weren't joking when they said they were going to shake up their morning TV show Daybreak - they have now announced that TV presenters Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones will become presenters on the show later this year.

It is unclear if current presenters Dan Lobb and Kate Garraway will still be on the show, or if Lorraine and Aled will be taking over from them.

Lorraine, who also presents her hit morning TV show Lorraine, is eager to start work on the show - she said:

"I'm really looking forward to this challenge and to working with Aled who is a warm, funny and a thoroughly decent bloke and is already a good friend."

Television presenter Aled, is also keen to get going on the show - he said:

"I am so thrilled to be joining ITV for their breakfast show. I am thoroughly looking forward to sharing the sofa every morning with such a consummate professional as Lorraine Kelly. We've known each other for a very long time and have always had a lot of fun together. We hope that the viewers enjoy being part of our breakfast family."

An ITV spokesperson said: "I'm incredibly excited to be taking ITV's breakfast show forward with Lorraine and Aled at the helm. They are two of the countries most loved and talented presenters and having seen them together, I know viewers are in for a real treat."

Could Lorraine and Albed's presence have what it takes to boost Daybreak's popularity? We certainly hope so!
